| Show SUNDAY SCHOOL EXCURSION never in the history ot of excursions iram front do dot elder to outside points has an excursion been handled in tile the splendid manner as aa was that or of the sunday school and to saltair last jast wednesday the oregon short line traffic department simply outdid itself in furnishing transportation facilities cili ties and mr S T rhodes RIi odes head of the department was on hand to accompany the special train tain which departed at 8 tn in the in orning and rendered every service possible to make for the comfort and convenience of the passengers things moved with dispatch and amil on oil time and upon arrival at the union depot in salt lake the saltair trains were standing in the yards N ards so that it was just a matter of transferring from one train to another and the excursionists were continued on their journey out to the lake every morning orning yn train was met by a lake train in the depot yards and coming back on the special in fit the evening the excursionists n found the short line train strain standing at the salt air depot so that they did not need to walk two blocks over to the union depot depol everybody who went on the excursion was provided a seat scat going and returning a feature which has never characterized a similar outing before ancl this community is loud in ilk its praise of fit this splendid service which added so materially to the pleasure of the occasion while there was a big crowd jt it was not as large as anticipated A whole train of empty cars went mackto back to salt lake in the morning and by reason of the slump the associations operating the thet excursion will not realize such a great profit as they anticipated for all that everybody had a splendid time which lad had its lit in the fhe quick ride ot of less than two hours irom from sc ft lake blake to brigham making it possible for the excursionists to get into their beds by midnight |
