| Show WHAT DRAINAGE DOES mr at r L H getz one of the progressive farmers residing west ot of tremon ton was in brigham on wednesday last on some matters of business mr getz was telling a news reporter of his achievements in the drainage line and stated that he is raising sugar beets this year on land recently tiled which has not produced a crop in 12 3 years ears mr getz began tiling tiling his farm way back in 1901 and lie he has continued the work until lie he lias has a net work of drains under the farm which carry off several streams of cold salt water which has been filed upon by the patterson live stock kompany company and uz used to irrigate a large pasture tract mr getz stated that the water becomes a little less salty each year and he f firmly rm ly believes that in time all the alkalis will be washed out of the soil and the water will bo be fresh mr getz declares that while the dragna drainage e cost him considerable money it has made ills his farm one of the best in the valley whereas had lie not drained he would have been under the necessity of abandoning atas it as nothing scarcely would grow on it |
