"Hill Air Force Base and its people will continue to be critical to AFMC achieving its mission of providing warfighter support," said Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, AFMC commander. "The work done here is important not only to the AFMC mission, but to the greater Air Force mission as well." The air logistics complex's mission capabilities continued at Hill, without added layers of management overhead. It now reports to the AFSC at Tinker AFB, Okla. The existing program offices at Hill are now aligned to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The consolidation was focused on making the command more efficient while ensuring each AFMC location maintained core mission functions. 3 Warriors Over the Wasatch: A Legacy of Valor T he Hill AFB open house and air show boasted thrills and chills, not just from aerial feats but with the weather taking part in Warriors Over the Wasatch: A Legacy of Valor May 26-27. A Heritage Flight performed by 388th Fighter Wing Capt. Garrett "Mace" Dover in an F-16 Fighting Falcon and civilian pilot Greg Anders in a P-51 Mustang as they flew A in tandem to delight the crowds each day. Rich Essary, 75th Public Affairs media relations, reports an estimated 100,000 were in the crowd on Saturday; with 150,000 people in attendance on Sunday. Lt. Col. Juris Jansons, 75th Operational Support Squadron commander, reported the event a great success. This followed the Nov. 2, 2011, Air Force announcement which identified 12,000 of the 16,500 civilian billets that were eliminated to bring the Air Force civilian strength in line with its Financial Year 2012 President's Budget. The Air Force had been working to define the remaining 4,500 positions since then. These reductions would meet the Secretary of Defense's requirement for the civilian workforce to be maintained at FY10 levels. "We value our talented and experienced work force and are trying to j do everything possible to manage these reductions with as little impact to our people as possible," said Michael B. Donley, Secretary of the Air Force. The reductions were the result of several strategic initiatives to include reducing overhead at every level, consolidating base support activities where feasible, and the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) restructuring. "The sum of personnel reductions to include Air Force reductions, AFMC restructuring, and workforce growth due to several programs, nets a reduction of 159 personnel for Team Hill," said Maj. Gen. Andrew Busch, Ogden Air Logistics Center commander. a-t ecrets is She Hiding? https://www2.hill.af . mil/rss/ carpool.php FRE oR7 nwA 0 E 1000 A • • : • 1/ CARS & TRUCKS • AMERICAN & FOREIGN HKEOVER Ffr DAVIS CONFERENCE CENTER ALL AGES EVENT 21+ OVER/ WRISTBANDS REQUIRED/ ~RINK RESPONSIBLY VIP TABLES AVAILABLE - CALL 801-589-0544 2 TICKETS+ ROOM $139.00 PLUS TAX 4 TICKETS' ROOM SI99.00 PI l!S TAX TICKETS AVAILABLE AT (13 ' IGLADIATORIFIGHTWEAR.COM PRESENTS THE GENIUS AN INSPIRATIONAL EXH I BITION Sec a life-size replica of Mona Lisa and discover her 25 secrets.
