There are several new stop signs on Wardleigh Road and within the 1200 Buildings area that have altered traffic patterns. Many sidewalks have been torn up and new sidewalks are under construction. This is not a safe area for pedestrian traffic. People are encouraged to only transit the West Gate by vehicle. In addition, be very cautious when walking between buildings. Don't assume that the driver approaching the area actually sees you. This cautionary period will last through May when construction is anticipated to be complete. There have been several near misses for both vehicles and pedestrians in this area. Vehicles have failed to stop at both existing and new stop signs and with the increase in traffic congestion during peak periods, this has increased the risk to pedestrians.
