This SW8, along with SW8 No. 2000, have been in service with the U.S. Air Force for 60 years. At left, Hannah, Noah and their father, Col. The locomotives have been used here at Hill Air Force Base for the past four years moving Peacekeeper missiles in and off the base. After completing their last runs on May 6 their next mission will find them being transferred for use at DavisMonthan AFB, Ariz. Above, Bobby Day, vehicle operations supervisor, shows photos of Diesel Electric Locomotive No. 2007 and 2000 as they were used at Cape Canaveral, Fla., for moving Titan rockets around the Cape.
