To encourage Airmen to think positively about the new standards, they composited their scores as if they were 18 years old and still passed with flying colors. "When I was asked to participate, I thought 'I'm not the most stellar athlete,' but I wanted to show Airmen there was nothing to be afraid of with the new system," said Maj. Dave Benedict, 388th Component Maintenance Squadron commander and test participant. "Fitness is supposed to be a way of life for us in the Air Force and what better way to show it than for a couple of us leaders to .come out and prove it. "Airmen can't limit themselves to doing just squadron PT, they need to be doing physical activities every day, the major said. "I might do cross training one day and then run the next, and I take Sundays off." Health and Wellness Center personnel agreed Airmen must do more than the standard three days of exercise in order to be fit to fight 365 days per year.
