BETH WOODWARD 388th Fighter Wing public affairs M ore than 350 Airmen and family members gathered to applaud the 388th Fighter Wing's top maintainers during the annual Maintenance Professionals of the Year banquet held at the Davis Conference Center on Oct. 4. Nearly 70 percent of the wing's 2,200 personnel belong to the 388th Maintenance Group. Whether turning wrenches in back shops or on the flightline, these Airmen are responsible for preparing a fleet of more than 70 F-16s for training and deployment missions. "Without quality Airmen like you, the Air Force's greatest assets, we wouldn't be able to accomplish the high (operational tempo) mission that's the hallmark of Team Hill," said Col. Roger Rostvold, 388th Maintenance Group commander, in an address at the banquet. Brig. Gen. (Select) John Cooper, Commander of Hill's 309th Maintenance Wing, was the evening's keynote speaker. His unit is responsible for depot-level maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of the F-16 Fighting Falcon and several other Air Force platforms. If you don't already have your Master's degree, the Air Force has just come out with a fantastic option. ACSC now has a 2-year, nonresidence program where after completion you receive a Master's degree. For all of you block-fillers, this means you can receive 12 points for a Master's and 12 points for PME. This program is an excellent option for all that are willing to put in the time and effort.
