Archery hunt to decrease deer population scheduled for August through September The 75th Civil Engineer Group Environmental Management Division will be issuing permits for archery deer hunts between August and December to help control the base's growing deer population. Twenty people will be selected at random to hunt in the area on the eastern edge of the base extending south from the North Gate to Hubbard Memorial Golf Course. Interested hunters should fill out an archery deer hunt application online at www.hafbdeerhunt.com by July 31, 5:30 p.m. Potential hunters must have a 2007 Utah Archery Hunt tag and a Wasatch Front Extended Archery Ethics Course certificate of completion before registering. The ethics course certificate is available at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Web site, www.wildlife.utah.gov. Participants in the base hunt are r subject to all laws set forth by the Big Game Proclamation published by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The 20 individuals who are selected will be picked by a computer-generated, random number drawing will be notified by e-mail Aug. 6, 5:30 p.m. The e-mail will also inform the individuals which month they are allowed to hunt in. The Hill Air Force Base permit allows selected hunters the right to hunt on base only - it is not an additional archery deer hunting permit. Each hunter who is selected will be required to display the colored tag for the selected month while hunting. They may hunt daily from 30 minutes before official sunrise through 30 minutes past the official sunset. Hwc an upcoming event?
