The NCO Retraining Program will target approximately 1.100 NCOs, in the ranks of staff sergeant through senior master sergeant — to retrain from Air Force Specialty Codes with NCO overages to AFSCs with NCO shortages. The voluntary phase of the program runs through Oct. 14. If necessary, an involuntary phase will begin shortly afterward. For complete details and a list of available retraining in AFSCs, personnel can contact the local career assistance advisors, Master Sgt. Erica Shipp at 777-7829, erica.s hipp@hill.af.mil or Master Sgt. Michael Nessler at 5864623 or michael.nessler® hill.af.mil. Personnel can also log on to the Air Force Personnel Center web site at www.afpc.randolph.af. m il /en 1 ski I Is/ Retrain ing/ retraining.htm and follow the link for NCORP for quotas. For those personnel in AFSCs affected by this retraining program, the Military Personnel Flight will hold two briefings in Bldg. 180, Services Conference Room - one on Monday at 8 a.m. and another on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Assistance is also available during the MPF's walk-in hours, 8:30-9:30 a.m., Monday-Thursdays, and all other times by appointment only. • Leadership Development Program The 309th Maintenance Wing will accept applications Aug. 15-26 for the Volunteer Leadership Development Program Opportunity. The 10th session will begin organic training in October and Weber State University classes in January. Wing employees (non-supervisory) who have an interest in potentially becoming future leaders are encouraged to apply. Those who applied in the past and were not selected will need to re-apply, as all names that were in the application database have been removed. The Volunteer Leadership Development Program provides existing supervisors the opportunity to gain some valuable insight into the management of their employees and their workloads, and at the same time provide potential future leaders the same opportunity. When future openings in management occur, the potential candidates for those openings will already have some management training. As a side note, there is no guarantee of job placement for those selected to participate in this program. Program completion isn't mandatory for an employee to be selected into management. However, employees who do complete the program are given two extra points in the screening process when the employee is placed on a referral roster. More information is posted on the 309 MXW/OBH home page, https://hillnet. hill.af.mil/ hafb/alc/ma/MAW/ MAWH/development.htm The application is available at https:// hillnet.hill.af.mil/DMRT/.
