Show ©Hilltop Times October 14, 2004 Rider rally planned Music, food highlight annual Hill Oktoberfest Members of the Hill Riders Association will show off their bikes as part of the Oct. 23 Oktoberfest in the Club Hill parking lot. The rally will be from 1-5 p.m. along with the other Oktoberfest festivities. Prizes will be awarded to the riders in several categories. The group is planning a benefit ride in November to help expand school opportunities in Pakistan. A recent Ride for Pride, sponsored by the Air Force Association, drew between 80 and 90 riders. The group traveled from Kaysville to Brigham City for Peach Days. Karen Palmer won the poker hand with four aces. HILL AIR FORCE BASE, UTAH Graphic by Kent BIngham Music by the Bavarians, crafts, prize drawings and food and will highlight the third annual Oktoberfest, Oct. 23 in the Club Hill parking lot. Sponsored by the 75th Services Division, outdoor events will run from 15 p.m., followed by a German buffet dinner inside Club Hill. The event is open to families, couples and singles and will be held regardless of weather conditions. Activities include music by the German band, "The Bavarians," and a DJ; a Bike Rally sponsored by Hill Riders Association; a Kinderland, featuring games and activities for children; Curly Sue the Clown; the "Der MarktplaU" Craft Fair with craft vendors from the local community; caricatures by Grant Wilson; a Security Forces working dog demonstration; Fire Department display; and prize drawings and giveaways. The Hess Fitness Center will sponsor a Hoop-It-Up Basketball Challenge for men and women ages 16 and older. Entry fee is $6 per person, which includes a T-shirt, and is due by Fri- day at the Hess Center. Competition includes 3-On-3, Free Throw and 3Point Shooting. For more details, call Ext. 7-2761. For the hungry, there will be an Oktoberfest combo meal, including bratwurst or knackwurst, potato salad and beverage, available for $4.50; and a kid's combo meal including a hot dog, chips and beverage, for $2. A beverage garden will also be set up. The German Buffet starts at 5 p.m. and the cost is $14 per person, though club members receive a $2 discount with their Members First Plus card. The buffet includes weinerschnitzel, knackwurst, bratwurst, hot German potato salad, sauerkraut, Bavarian cabbage, tossed green salad with dressings, assorted rolls, and apple strudel. The club hosts an All Nighter from 10 p.m.-3 a.m. that is free for members and $5 for nonmembers.
