younger sister washing the dishes She was doing them in an odd way She was washing the pans and kettles first before she washed the china dishes I was rather curious and asked her the reason why and she replied: “Well you see I am saving the earthern dishes till the last because they’re the easiest" Last winter an old cat came to live with us anc this summer she became the mother of four baby kittens all black and white From the time I found these baby kittens I liked them and I enjoyed playing with them also enjoy feeding the mother cat and watching her lick the dish for the last remains of Several interesting communications about collections have come In recently Jean Belliston of Nephi sent a snapshot of herself to trade tor a snapshot of any other member This gave us an idea and we have started an “Exchange Box" On the top of the bookshelves in the office we shall keep a little box and into this we are going to put odd stamps memorial issues snapshots of members and anything else that may come our way — including some photographs of movie stars Visitors to the office may take out any one thing PROVIDING they put in one thing Out of town members may participate in the exchange box by sending in something for it and a stamped addressed envelope with a statement of what they’d like— pictures stamps postmarks etc We can’t fill orders exactly but will do our best That is if you ask for stamps we must send Just what stamps we have and we cannot select any certain kind There is a chance that you will already have what we send but at the same time there is a chance you won’t We are going to try this for a while and see how it works If you like it and use it we’ll keep It if not we’ll toss the idea and the box away Milton Holstein writes: People who collect stamps will find it pays not to collect only foreign issues but to collect United States stamps too Sometimes stamps issued In the United States can be Just as valuable and Interesting as those issued in foreign lands Some people pay large sums of money for stamps that come from certain letters I once knew a boy who went to the city dumps and got stamps from envelopes thrown there He now ht a large and valuable collection of United States stamps Lillian Lee sends this: Not so many years ago the collecting fad was for postmarks How well I remember the fun we had collecting postmarks from all over
