Utah, and Collbran, Colorado, Job Corps Centers as Training Instructors, Group Leaders and Group Aides. There are no tests for these positions, and applicants will be judged on the basis of experience, education, and training related to the duties of the positions. Training Instructors will be required to have from three to four years experience (or substitute schooling above high school) in a trade or craft. They will teach Arts and Crafts, Auto Mechanics, Carpentry, Cooking, Custodial Maintenance, Industrial Arts, Plumbing, etc. Group Aides and Group Leaders will lead the Corpsmen in_group-living, day-to-day activities, give advice, and prepare records and reports. These positions require one to three years experience in working with people, and for the higher level positions, require special experience or schooling in counseling or group leadership. Have you ever thought that you could do as good a job as your caseworker, employment interviewer, or vocational counselor? You may have thought you would like to have. | talked to a girl earlier this week who said it scared the daylights out of her to even go into an office, but she had always liked the idea of working in the clean surroundings of an office and getting dressed up for work. This new HRC approach might be the answer for her--she could be trained for office work, given pointers on dressing properly and inexpensively, actual on-the-job training and experience, help with WILLIAM BELL and budgeting her new earnings, and even help and instruction in dieting if she wanted. (Courses in Slimnastics, Drama, Minority History, Journalism, are electives at HRC). How’s that for complete service? Many community agencies cooperate with Human Resource Center to refer interested people to this super all-around training. Just ask at Public Service Careers Proagram, - Vocatronal Rehabilitation, Public Welfare, or your local employment office Information Center. The Utah Employment Security Department, of which this employment office is a part, has begun laying the groundwork for a new program called ‘“New Careers’’. The object of this program is to train WIN enrollees (who have not done these types of work before) to work in professional jobs similar to the ones mentioned above. It is planned that college credit will be given for participating in the program, as well as the usual WIN incentive pay. We will keep you posted on developments in this program as we hear of them.
