For more information, call Snowbasin at 801-620-1000, or visit <www.snowbasin.com> Weber County Commissioner Cain Elected as Chair for 2004 Commissioner Camille Cain has been elected to serve as the Weber County Commission Chairperson for the year 2004. Commissioner Glen Burton was elected to serve as vice-chair. The Board of Commissioners elected both of them to these positions. Commissioner Cain replaces Commissioner Ken Bischoff, who served as chairperson for the 2003 year. “I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Weber County in this way,” stated Commissioner Cain, “and I look forward to meeting the challenges of next year with my fellow commissioners and the employees of Weber County.” Commission meetings will continue to be held every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise scheduled. All meetings are held in the Commission chambers at 2380 Washington Boulevard. The public is invited to attend. Agendas and meeting notices are published no later than 24 hours in advance and are available on the county’s web site at <www.co.weber.ut.us> Eccles Art Center Offers Free Lectures The next lecture in the Eccles Community Art Center’s Conversations In Art series will explore “How to Collect Art.” This free lecture series receives funding from a grant provided by the Utah Humanities Council, and has for the last three years. The Utah Humanities Council promotes understanding of human traditions, values, and issues through informed public discussion. David Ericson of Ericson Fine Arts in Salt Lake City will lead the discussion. Mr. Ericson specializes in research, appraisal, and the selling of Utah Art. The lecture will be held at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Tuesday, January, 20 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Other lectures are being scheduled through May 2004. Including More 20th Century Photographers with Jon Williams on Tuesday, February 10; English Floral Artist—William Kilburn with historian Esther Jackson on Thursday, March 18; and Three Great Mexican Muralists—Rivera, Roozco, and Siqueiros with art historian Lila Larsen on Thursday, May 13.
