Gunn McKay Former U.S. Congressman Koln Gunn McKay, 75, passed away Friday, October 6, 2000 at home from the effects of cancer. He was born February 23, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to James Gunn McKay and Elizabeth Catherine Peterson McKay. He married Donna Biesinger on May 5, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Besides his many civic positions, his church service included; Mission to Singapore, with service in Pakistan and East Malaysia, Nairobi, Kenya and as Mission President of the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. He had served as a Sealer in the Ogden Temple, as Stake Patriarch, Stake President, counselor in a Bishopric, Stake Missionary and as a missionary in the British Mission. Among other callings, he spent his life in the service of the Lord. Surviving are his wife, Donna B. McKay, Huntsville; four sons, Gunn McKay (Jana), Mesa, Arizona; Marl McKay, Huntsville; Ruston McKay (Lisa), Huntsville; Chad McKay (Wendy), Huntsville; five daughters, Mavis Stevenson (Chris), Huntsville; Kolene Jackson (John), Arnold, Maryland; Ruth Jenkins (Dave), Huntsville; Rachel Sedrick (Andy), Clearfield; Carla Siggart (Bruce), Huntsville. He is also survived by three brothers, Quinn McKay (Shirley), Kaysville; Monroe McKay (Lucy), Dana Point, California; Barrie McKay (Elaine), Bountiful; four sisters, Ann Downs (George), Gilbert, Arizona; Mary Stirland (Jarold), Mesa, Arizona; Elizabeth Seamons (Brant), Mesa, Arizona; Williamena Richardson (Delwyn), El Salvador, San Salvador; 40 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son; Lon B. McKay. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at the Huntsville LDS Chapel. Interment, the Huntsville Cemetery. Eagle Scouts Missionaries Chad Eniss, 17, Troop 241, Huntsville LDS 2nd Ward. A son of Chad Eniss, and Lonnie and Pam Crockett of Huntsville. He is a senior at Weber High School. Mycal Forrest Brown has been called to serve in the Mexico Merida Mission. Mycal is the son of Forrest and SuZan Brown of Huntsville. Mycal will enter the MTC on November 15. His farewell is scheduled for November 12, at 10:50 a.m. at the Huntsville Utah Stake Center located at 6450 E. 1900 N., in Eden, Utah. Ben Saunders, 17, Troop 241, Huntsville 2nd Ward. A son of Paul and Diane Saunders of Huntsville. He is a senior at Weber High School. Births Vern and Kim Iverson of Huntsville are the proud parents of their son Braedon Vern Iverson born on October 9. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 and ½ inches long.
