Mr. Fuller was notified that he would no longer be serving on the Commission after a very brief telephone call only hours before the Haynes Fuller Mr. Fuller resides in Eden where, for five generations, his family has farmed. He is self employed, working on the Evergreen ranch, where he also runs Evergreen Feed and Supply. Haynes and his wife Pat have four children. Mr. Fuller, thank you for your years of dedicated service to the community! Weber County Township Planning Commission meeting was due to begin. Applications had been taken by the County in order to fill Sandy Tuck’s position that came open after she became part of the newly created Nordic-Liberty Township. Unexpectedly, the County Commissioners also filled Mr. Fuller’s position. Mr. Fuller has a long history of community service. He served in the State Legislature for eight years. He also served on the Bear River Development Task Force, the Governor’s Task Force on Safe Drinking Water, the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District Board, and has served in the five member State Director Farm Service Administration after being Federally appointed two years ago. Mr. Fuller was also a part of the Weber County Watershed Protective Association where he served as an officer. The organization was responsible for preserving 24,000 acres of prime mountain land and watershed areas along our Western mountains that was purchased and later deeded to the U.S. Forest Service for protection and management. Haynes also holds the distinction of being the first President of the Eden Town Council. Through the years, Mr. Fuller has been an outspoken representative of the Valley as he served on the Weber County Planning Commission. His years of experience and vast knowledge, especially in the realm of water issues, have clearly been an asset to the County, as has his knowledge of the local area as a lifelong resident. More recently, Mr. Fuller has been involved in efforts to restore County owned lands to the citizens of Weber County after property in the Powder Mountain area had been sold to private owner Rulon Jones. With over a quarter of a century of dedicated service to the County as a member of the Planning Commission, it’s surprising to find that Mr. Fuller was relieved of his duties without a word of thanks or recognition from our current County Commissioners . . . or is it? |
