About Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM): OFOAM’s mission is to provide and promote live traditional and contemporary Americana music experiences in the community. Through these performances, OFOAM aims to attract visitors from outside the region and help develop Weber County and Ogden as a destination for first-class arts events and recreation. We strive to raise awareness of the many benefits that accompany exposure to music and traditional instrument playing by providing music education opportunities with a focus on youth and underserved audiences. OFOAM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that contributes significantly to Ogden’s vibrant arts and recreation community. Over 60 percent of our operating budget is for artist fees. Far from being observers, attendees become active participants in the OFOAM Festival Community through youth activities, vending, sponsorship, volunteerism, and campground jams. Art, Music and now Poetry in Huntsville Square Mountain Arts and Music (MAM) is very excited about the amazing community participation at our Thursday evening event: Open Arts & Music. This is a time when the community can come together and be immersed in creativity. Watercolor supplies are provided on the tables, and instructors are there to get you started, giving tips on how to watercolor. Local artists are encouraged to bring their artwork in progress to work on while all are serenaded by musicians of all abilities and instruments on stage playing at the open mic. Kids are welcome and will be given a special project and instructor. We are adding a Poetry Corner, where interested adults and kids can come and write a poem (in a group or individually) and get up on stage and read their new creation. The Poetry Corner encourages participants to try short poems, different rhyme schemes, and just have fun with this form or creativity! The fun and creativity begin at 6:00 p.m. and continues until dusk. MAM’s goal is to get you doing art and/or music in a very supportive, fun, and encouraging environment. It’s what Mountain Arts and Music is all about! You can bring dinner out to the event from IDK BBQ and listen to music and then do art! It is a terrific event for the entire family! Mountain Arts and Music is very grateful to the Hyde Family for inviting the community into their beautiful space to create! Funding comes from RAMP, the Utah Department of Arts and Museums, and from the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley.
