Highway 162 in Eden—in the parking lot of the Eden/Liberty LDS church located across from Snowcrest Jr. High School. No need to pre-register; just come and have some fun! The entry fee for the run/walk is a grocery bag of canned or boxed commercial food, or a monetary donation to benefit Catholic Community Services. Nov. 30: The Story of Our Lives: Honoring Ogden Valley’s founding families. Are you a descendant of an Ogden Valley founding family? If so, you’re invited to attend the upcoming Ogden Valley Heritage - Founding Family event at the Historic Valley Chapel, aka Hearthside, in Eden, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Nondescendants, otherwise interested in Ogden Valley’s early settlement years are also welcome. Guest descendant speakers will share insightful glimpses into the lives of their Ogden Valley pioneer ancestors. The evening promises opportunities for hearing and viewing stories, memories, and pictures in honor of Ogden Valley’s founding families. See article on page 4. Dec. 1: In December, the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Ave., Ogden will display in Main Gallery the work of a Quartet of Women—artists Heather Baron, Willamarie Huelskamp, Judy Jones, and Stephanie Saint Thomas. The Carriage House Gallery will exhibit works accepted to the Petite Impressions Competition. The ECAC will also participate in Ogden’s Art Stroll Friday, Dec. 1, 5 - 8 p.m. Work will remain on exhibit thru Dec. 30. Regular gallery hours: weekdays 9 to 5 & Saturdays 9 to 3. Dec. 2: Artist Mary Wells’ journal making workshop @ Eccles Community Art Center, noon - 2 p.m. This journal will be leather bound. Supplies provided. Suggested for students ages 12 thru adult. Dec. 10 & 11: Ogden Valley Chordettes 2017 Christmas performances. Each evening’s program will begin at 7:00 p.m. at The Hearthside in Eden (5612 E. 2200 N.). This year’s Christmas program theme is “Believe.” Many of the pieces the Chordettes will perform are from holiday movie favorites such as White Christmas, Home Alone, The Grinch, The Polar Express, and many others.
