Weber Pathways Upcoming Events Weber Pathways will hold their annual summer fundraiser for trails on Friday evening, August 23, at Snowbasin Resort. This year, Trail Mixer attendees will enjoy a lovely evening filled with dinner, drinks, and music; along with live and silent auctions. There will be many exciting items to bid on. The 2013 Pathways theme is “Get Dirty, Build Trails.” The money raised from the Trail Mixer will continue to service the pathways by providing funds for new non-motorized trails that affect the community in very significant ways. For example; trails provide a free venue for recreation to improve health and wellbeing; and statistically, people who utilize trails live longer, healthier, happier lives. Weber Pathways encourages everyone to enjoy the trails at any time of the year. Summer Buy-A-Foot Campaign OK, this is exciting news! How would you like to support the creation of new trails and get one of the most cutting-edge, well-equipped $10,000 mountain bikes available today, all for just $5? Our BuyA-Foot program is back, and thanks to ENVE and Bikers Edge, this time we are about bikes. Each $5 sponsored buys a foot of new trail, and the sponsor gets a chance to win a fully ENVE equipped Santa Cruz Bronson bicycle. This campaign will rely mostly on word of mouth recommendations. It’s up to the community to tell everyone about this chance to win a dreamy bike and help to create new and better trails. The more feet of trail one buys, the more chances of winning. Donate any amount—each five dollar increase gives another chance of getting a new bike and helps create more trails. This campaign is open to everyone. The Community Foundation of Ogden Valley is sponsoring the second annual celebration of the non-profits that serve the valley by staging a Color 5K and festival on September 7, at Wolf Mountain. The color 5K will start at 5:00 p.m. with participants passing through the first color station as they enter the course. The “colors” are non-toxic vegetable dyed cornstarch. The participants will be showered with additional colors as they follow the course. When the course is completed, they will be directed to The Dance Party hosted by Casey Scott from KUTV2. When all participants have arrived at the dance party there will be a group color throw. Each non-profit that participates in the Amazing Raise campaign that began on July 4, will have a booth and will either have an activity or prize drawings that will be awarded throughout the event. In addition there will be food provided by Ogden Valley restaurants. There will be a beer garden, an obstacle course, and a prize launch area. Elementary school children will have a separate walk, but will be encouraged to enter the Color 5K as well. Finally, the climax of the evening event will be a free concert with the Codi Jordan Band!
