Show Volume XVII Issue XVII The Ogden Valley news Page February 15, 2010 Announcements Obituaries Kim Ann Bragonje Kim Ann Bragonje was born in Ogden, Utah June 9, 1966, daughter of Dorthy Faye Mallister and Robert John Bragonje. Kim was a lover of all four-legged creatures, especially horses, and spent a lot of time ridKim Bragonje ing and caring for them. She was active in the Rodeo Arena of Weber County where she was a Rodeo Queen. She had a favorite horse named “Chumps.” As a child she was the darling of her Grandpa Mac and spent a lot of time with him. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. Sharon A. Kollman-Horan Sharon A. KollmanHoran, 68, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away from a sudden heart attack while at home Sunday, January 31, Sharon Horan on 2010 in Eden, Utah. Mom was born October 10, 1941 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Kollman. She was raised in Minnesota and spent her later years in California and Utah. Above all, mom loved being a mother and grandmother and was at her happiest cooking and baking for her family, and spending time together. She was a member of St. Florence Catholic Church. David L. Butt David LaMar Butt, 70, died Monday, February 1, 2010. He was born June 12, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Albert and Leona Cooley Butt. He grew up in Copperton, Utah, and graduated from Bingham High School. David Butt Dave met his eternal sweetheart Elaine, a nursing student at LDS Hospital, while recovering from a serious accident. They were married July 2, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. He attended B.Y.U., receiving an art and business degree, and remained a devoted B.Y.U. fan throughout his life. He also fulfilled a lifelong dream by designing homes in his later years. Dave was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel and served faithfully. He especially enjoyed his two missions: as a young Elder in the Great Lakes area, and with his wife in the Atlanta, Georgia Temple. He also helped many through the years in various callings. Dave is survived by his wife, Elaine; six children, Ron (LeeAnn) Bursett, Layton, UT; Sherilynn (Duane) Edgington, Heber City, UT; Brent (Christa) Morgan, South Jordan, UT; Steve (Gennifer) Bursett, Kamas, UT; Julie (Mike) Park, Longmont, CO; Colleen (Tom) ... Kim is survived by her son Jesse, a brother Christopher, her father Robert, several aunts and uncles, and many cousins who love her. Also, a special cousin, Darla Newton, who took care of Kim as if she were her daughter. Kim spent the last nine years of her life at Manor Care in South Ogden where she was the darling of all the residents. The family is so appreciative of the loving care she received by the staff at Manor Care, and Kim would like all to remember, “Cowgirls Rule.” Services were held February 6, 2010 at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a son, and two grandsons. “Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there.” A private Celebration of Life gathering with family is pending. He was preceded in death by one son, Paul; two sisters; two brothers; and his parents. His grandchildren and neighborhood kids always enjoyed his fun-loving nature and his infamous Donald Duck voice. Dave was well loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed. Send condolences to the family at <www. lindquistmortuary.com> Yvonne E. Storey Yvonne Erickson Storey, 78, died Monday, February 8, 2010 of natural causes. Yvonne was born May 2, 1931 in Wilson, Utah, the daughter of David and Nellie Erickson. She was educated in Weber County Yvonne Story Schools and attended Weber State College and Brigham Young University. She married Boyd Kay Storey on September 12, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker as well as maintaining her career as a Tax Examiner at the I.R.S. for many years. Her greatest accomplishment was devoting herself to her husband’s and her family’s dairy farm, and their civic and educational pursuits. She was an accomplished musician, a piano teacher, and accompanist. She served faithfully in her many ward and stake callings. The highlight of her church service was the three years she spent serving along side Boyd as the Mission President in the Idaho Boise Mission. She Dale Elias Dawson Dale Elias Dawson passed away February 8, 2010 at his home in Newton, Utah. He was born in Ogden, Utah on April 11, 1929. Dale lived in Ogden; Layton; Liberty; and Newton, Dale Dawson Utah. He married his eternal sweetheart Bermuda Anne Trace on March 21, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised six children, and now have 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dale worked in the printing industry as a lithographer plus in management and sales positions. His was a life of service to church and community. He continuously held ward and stake positions in the LDS church and served three missions. He enjoyed his scouting, PTA, and community activities as well as photography, hunting, fishing, and horses. Dale was preceded in death by his mother Fidelia Nelson Dawson, father Elias developed a deep and lasting love and respect for the missionaries that served with them. She served on the Alumni Board of Weber State University. She loved her voluntary service at the YCC Thrift Store. Surviving are her children: Kaye Lynn (Edgel) Blackham, Sandy, Utah; Craig (Miriam) Storey, North Ogden; Eric (April) Storey, Eden; Jone (Paul) Wells, Roosevelt, Utah; Scott (Andrea) Storey, Liberty. Also, her 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, with three more expected this year, all who brought her great joy. She loved worrying about each and every one of them. She is also survived by three sisters—Elizabeth Porter, Orem, Utah; Delores Rowan, Barstow, California; and Pat Florence of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; her parents; her brother Duane Erickson; and her in-laws, Eph and Rose Storey. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the Huntsville, Utah Stake Center, 6450 E. 1900 N., Eden, Utah. Interment, Eden Mt. View Cemetery.
