Show Page The Ogden Valley news Volume XV Issue IX April 15, 2008 Announcements Weddings Mr. & Mrs. Ammon Beddes Mitchell-Beddes Torrie Christine Mitchell and Ammon Seth Beddes were united in marriage on March 22, 2008 at the Coldwater LDS Stake Center in North Ogden. The ceremony was officiated by Bishop Kelly Chidester. A reception was held in their honor at the Stake Center following the ceremony and an open house was held in Casper, Wyoming on March 29. The bride is the daughter of John and Laurie Dykes of Casper, Wyoming. Parents of the bridegroom are Vern Kay and Sharon Beddes of Liberty, Utah. The bride chose her twin sister, Terrie Scoleri as her matron of honor, and Lindsey Wharton and Lindsay Beddes as her bridesmaids. The bride’s 6 year old son, Isaiah Vega, performed the duties of the best man with Chad Beddes and Layne Beddes as groomsmen. The bride graduated from Casper College in the Radiography program and is currently employed at Alta View Orthopedic Clinic in Salt Lake City. The bridegroom also graduated from Casper College in the Radiography program and will graduate in December from Weber State University in Cardiac Sonography. He is currently employed at IHC North Temple Clinic in Salt Lake City. The bridegroom served an LDS mission to the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. The new couple will live in Murray. A honeymoon trip is planned for a later date. Anniversaries an open house on April 5 at the Lorin Farr LDS 4th Ward in Ogden. They were married April 5, 1958 in Evanston, Wyoming. On December 1, 1972, their vows were solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was born and raised in Huntsville. He is active in the LDS Church, and is a Scout leader. He was a roofer and is an outdoor sportsman with hunting and fishing among his favorites. He enjoys being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. She was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Ogden. She is also active in the LDS Church. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner. She also enjoys being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Their children and their spouses are Richard Shupe (deceased), Jay Shupe, Junior and Loretta Shupe Lorrie and Gene Fowler, Glenna Shupe, Shupe and Aaron and Sarah Shupe. Obituaries Harold D. Schweppe Latter-day Saints, holding many positions of responsibility. Harold and Verna served as missionaries for the LDS Church in Nauvoo, Illinois from 20052006. Harold loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends. Camping and backyard barbeques were common. He was once quoted for his definition of friendship, saying, “A friend is someone who is there when you need them and when you don’t.” Harold was a friend to many. He was always ready for a road trip, and had a soft spot in his heart for the beaches of Kauai. He is survived by his wife, Verna; children: Mathew (Susan) Schweppe, North Ogden, Utah; Julene (Todd) Roane, Kaysville, Utah; Mark (Kristal) Schweppe, Liberty, Utah; two stepchildren: Holly (Terry) Cosgrove, Montrose, Virginia; Weston (Shauna) Winchester, Jacksonville, Florida; five siblings: Ruhl (Quinna), Pahrump, Nevada; Jerry (Ginny),Vincent, Iowa; Darlene Milton, Spencer, Iowa; Janice Ringstad, Jewel, Iowa; Linda (Daryl) Marker, Woolstok, Iowa; and 15 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife Corinne, infant son Michael, parents, and sister, Betty Lou Johnson. The family sends heartfelt thanks for the loving support and service from family, friends, neighbors, and VistaCare. Funeral services were held Friday, April 4 at the North Ogden 20th Ward Chapel, 575 East 3100 North, with Bishop Paul Kelly officiating. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. Send condolences to the family at <www.lindquistmortuary.com> Harold Dean Schweppe, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 29, 2008, surrounded by his family. Harold was born at home on Harold Schweppe January 22, 1932, to Harold O. and Marie Schweppe in Hamilton County, Iowa. Harold married Corinne Buffington on August 18, 1956 in Long Beach, California; later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Corinne passed away on April 20, 1988. On November 16, 1990, he married Verna Holdeman. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict in the 31st Strategic Recon Squadron. His family and friends loved hearing his stories about his time in the Air Force and his love and passion for the B-36, for which he was maintenance crew chief. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in agronomy and pursued advanced studies at Iowa State. He managed cooperatives in Iowa and Utah prior to his 30 plus year career with the USDA, retiring in 1994. He served as an appointed director for Western Ag Credit from 1996 to 2005. Harold was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Fawn Anderson P. parties. Her family was her greatest joy. No one left her home without something to eat. She was so pleased that every grandchild and great-grandchild knew her well. She is survived by her children: Norman Keith (Jeannie), John Blaine (Gerene), Eileen (Gordon K.) Madsen, Julie Heywood, Ralph (Juliann), Carol Liptrott; 30 grandchildren; 70 greatgrandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Elva Smith and June Jackson; and sister-in-law Mildred Bruce. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Vera Dawley; and 2 sons-in-law, JC Heywood and Steve Liptrott. Funeral services were held April 5, 2008 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Special thanks to Julie Lee and the rest of the IHC Hospice Team. Fawn P. Anderson, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday March 30, 2008 at her home with her family present. Fawn Anderson She was born August 19, 1914 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Hans C. Peterson and Syrina Keddington. She married Norman J. Anderson on February 7, 1935 in Coalville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. An active member of the LDS Church, she served in the Primary, Young Women, and in the Ward and Stake Relief Society Organization. She also served in the Ogden Temple. Her hobbies included quilting and crocheting. She really had a green thumb. Her porches were arranged as a beautiful garden all year long.
