Lowell served in the United State Air Force during World War II. He was a Master Sergeant stationed in England. He married Lenora Lowell Lemon Harrop on August 12, 1948, in The Logan Temple. Lowell and Lenora have been in the farming and dairy business for more than 60 years. They enjoy wintering in their St. George home and spending their summers on their Willard farm. As a member of the LDS Church, he has served in many positions. His interest includes wood working, metal art, and traveling. His children and their spouses are Elizabeth and Eddy Kulbacki, Clinton, UT; Richard and Mary Lemon, Chandler, AZ; JoAnn and Richard Day, Willard, UT; Kent and Cathy Lemon, Auburn, WA; Winston and Annette Sales, Liberty, UT; Helen Marie, Willard, UT (decreased); Marilyn Mike, Fruitland, New Mexico. Obituaries Edna Irene Houghton Carter Edna Irene Houghton Carter died at the age of 93 on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the home of her granddaughter, Karen Lee Judkins. She was born September 13, 1913 in Ogden, Utah to James and Sarah Houghton. Edna married George Carter. They lived in Ogden, Roy and Huntsville and spent 29 winters in Arizona. They enjoyed 75 years together caring for one another and remaining close to their son Marvin. George left their side July 5, 2006. Though quietly independent, Edna lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment, touching the hearts of all who (cont. from page 6) Obituaries knew her. She gave of her time and love unconditionally, always willing to listen and make us laugh. Edna retired from Swift and Company, formerly American Pack. She enjoyed many activities Edna Carter throughout her life including water skiing, fishing, and bowling. Edna enjoyed vacationing with her sisters, especially their trips to Wendover. She expressed her artistic talent by china painting, ceramics, and crocheting many afghans. Among her talents she was also voted “the best cupcake baker and card player ever” by her great-grandchildren. Her greatest achievement was her son Marvin with whom she shared a very special relationship. Edna is survived by her son Marvin George Carter of Huntsville; four grandchildren: Connie (Jim) Robison, Tremonton; Karen Lee (Rex) Judkins, Roy; Brock (Holly) Carter, Roy; Quinn (Bonnie) Carter, Surprise, AZ; 14 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Bessie Robinson, Salt Lake City and Donna Fletcher, Phoenix, AZ; one sister-in-law, Bernice Carter, Ogden; and former daughter-in-law, June Shrope. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, brothers Thomas, Herbert and James Houghton; sisters Nettie Griffiths, Mary Warren, and Elva Houghton. Graveside services were held May 29 at the Huntsville Cemetery. Thank you, Grandma, for being a great example to us and blessing us with memories to cherish. We’ll be loving you.
