He had a great love for hoi and was a member of the Quarter Horse Association, He enjoyed breeding his brood mares to his stallion and always looked forward to the spring to see the new foals. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed the summers at the FOE trailer park. He fulfilled his dream of buying an RV and traveling the United States. He was able to reconnect with his sister and nephews on the East Coast and revisit his birthplace two sons, Tyler (Mavanee) Smith and Lee (Colleen) Smith, all from Roy; and six grandchildren, Kolton, Michael Skyler, Tasia, Carlee, and Caity. Also surviving is his best friend and only sibling Maggie Lohkamp (our pillar of strength through this difficult time). He also has five wonderful nephews: Mark, Joe. Rick (Jen), Dave (Robin), Bert (Kim), one grand nephew, and five grand nieces. s preceded in death by both his parents and one brother-in-law, Robert Lohkamp. We would like to express thanks to the staff of Dr. Gray, Dr. Senekjian, Dr. Wood, Dr. Ingersal, McKay Dee _ Hospital, University of Utah, National Kidney Foundation, the families of the two kidney donors who gave us an extra 15 years to spend with our dad and him time to know his grandchildren. Lastly, we would like to thank Cathy Esplin and the hospice team for making our dad comfortable and adding support to his family in his last days. George T. O’Rourke Heazlett George (Irish) O’Rourke, passed away Tuesday, Joa me s_ January 18, 2005at Mt. Ogden Nursing home. He Alexand er — was bom on September 23, 1919 in Bridgeport, Heazlett, 56, died Connecticut. He moved to Liberty, Utah three years Wednesday, ago with his daughter Barbera and son-in-law Wayne January 26, 2005 Sikes after spending many years in Flori at his home in George was a WW II veteran. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling. He also loved to take walks. He is survived by his three daughters Barbara native Californian Sikes of Liberty, Patti Freeman of Eden, and Mae who spent most of Caldomi of Clearfield; three Son-in-laws; seven his life in the Palm grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Jim began his law enforcement career with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department in 1970. In 1971 he began working for the Palm Springs Police Department and after 31 years of service, retired as a Commander in January of 2002. In addition to his law enforcement career, Jim retired after 25 years with the California Army National Guard as a Major. Jim loved both his law enforcement career as well as his service in the Guard and felt that the information he shared from both jobs was beneficial to all. Jim was a teacher at heart and taught law enforcement classes at College of the Desert. He also taught both officers and civilians for the Police Department. Teaching was one of the things he loved best. In addition to his other jobs, Jim excelled as a husband and father. He is survived by his wife Mary and his son James, both of Eden; and his son Mathew, who is currently servinga tour of duty with the Army in Iraq. Throughout his life Jim helped, instructed, and touched many lives No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the USO.
