The two friends were enjoying a day of snowmobiling with friends when trip ended in tragedy with the death of 43 year-ol- d Sharon Reinfurt of Bedford, New Hampshire. According to a police report four people from a two family excursion were attempting to traverse across the area of Squaretop Mountain near Park City, when two of them tried to ski down a steep slope causing an avalanche. The remaining two skiers were caught in the slide with family able to get one free. Officials once again sent out warnings on unstable conditions which could lead to avalanche dan- ger. South Summit FFA members competed in the Sweetheart and Hero competition held in the school. Carrie Bone and Matt Crittenden were declared the top two students of the ten who com- peted for the honors. North Summit FFA also held a competition with Tiffany Clegg being chosen as Sweetheart and Cole Pace as King. Their attendants were Misty Judd and Nick Grant. He had received many well deserved awards during his practice and was honored at an open house at the Coalville Senior Citizen Center. The board had earlier made a decision to turn control of the ambulance over to Park City Fire saying it fell some changes needed to be made and they felt this was the best way to go. An interUx:ul agreement was signed handing control over to Park City for the next four years at which time it will he reviewed. A new program has been implemented which has brought several new members to the volunteer team.
