Leavitt Honor Utah's 100 Fastest Growing Companies at 7th Annual Awards Ceremony One hundred of Utah's fastest growing companies, IS top revenue-growt- h and IS companies "Emerging Elite companies were honored at the Mountainwest Venture Groups (MWVG) seventh annual Utah 100 awards ceremony at the Grand America Hotel. Topping the Utah 100 list for the second year in a row was LS Micro, a Salt Lake County-base- d reseller of computers and computer parts. Receiving honors as the largest revenue growth company for the second consecutive year was Zions Bancorporation. Governor Leavitt awarded recipients at the ceremony, a tradition he has maintained since the inception of the first Utah 100 awards events Multi-yea- r Utah 100 hon-oreincluded Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc., a seven time winner that has annually qualified since the the of inception awards, Christopherson Business Travel, a six time winner, and Body Firm Aerobics, Inc., a five time winner. In the Top 15 revenue growth category ( Top 25 in years prior), two companies were seven year honorees: The Layton Companies and R.C. Willey; two six-tiwinners included Zions Bancorporation and Macy's Inc. This years Utah 100 were selected from over 11,000 applications distributed throughout the slate. To be eligible, were companies required to be a Utah based, U.S. corporation or partnership, in business for at least five years and have minimum annual sales revenues of in 199S. $50,000 in the competition's "base' year of 1996, to qualify for the Utah 100, a company had to sustain a nearly 200 percent growth rate for the past five years. MWVG's newest category, the "emerging elite" recognized 15 companies for their outstanding accomplishment and future potential. The companies were determined by the following criteria; revenue growth, employee growth, capital raised and recognition from peer and professional associations. The 15 companies were required to be in business between years with minimum sales revenues of $50,000 in 2000.
