QUESTAR PIPELINE Questar proposes to install a new 75 mile. diameter natural gas loop (parallel) pipeline. The pipeline would cross portions of Carbon, finery. Sanpete and Utah count ies. In most places, the pipeline would lx installed parallel to and within 25 feet of Qucslar's existing pipeline Irom Price to Payson. Beyond Payson, a new pipeline would continue due west through Goshen Valley, south of Utah Lake, and terminate at a proposed interconnect with the existing Kern River pipeline near Elherta. UT. In addition to ihc pipeline, Questar proposes to: increase compression at its exiting Oak Springs Compressor Siaiion west of Price; and build a meter station, eight m1 20-inc- 12-in- h y right-of-wa- hlixk valves and five delivery taps for the communities of Goshen, Genola and Liberia. KERN RIVER PIPELINE Kern River proposes to construct h an 82 mile, diameter to pipeline transport natural gas Irom Price, in Carbon County, Utah. to an interconnect with the existing Kern River Pipeline System west of Nephi, in Juah County. Kern River proposes to follow approximately 38 miles of Questar existing gas pipeline to Indianola. Kern River then would build a new route from Indianola to west of Nephi. To operate the pipeline, Kern River would construct a compressor station, a check meter station and mainline block valves. PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT The BLM and USFS are committed to public involvement and coordination throughout the planning, and monitoring implementation phases of this project. In line with this commitment and Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations. the Draft EIS is scheduled to he available to the public from Feb. 23 to April 16, 2001. Publication will be followed by a 45day comment period. From March 29, 2001, public meetings will be held on the Draft EIS. Public meetings are scheduled as follows: March 19: 7 p.m..
