Show V Senior & tHeaCth 9ezos March 16, 2001 The Summit County Bee North Summit Senior Citizens LOUSE WALLACE BY Hope you all enjoyed the beautiful sight of the new fallen snow on Sunday morning. It reminded me of a pretty Christmas card and what a nice way to start the week. Of course, I don't have to shovel it so that helps. Then we had the little tree in the front yard literally covered with birds. Aren't.robins supposed to be harbingers of spring? I bet there was 30 or 40 of them and ever so many starlings. I got so caught up with watching them from the window, I dam near was late for church. The nice part was that the sun came out and most of it was melted by mid afternoon. Our meetings this week was con- ducted by our faithful president. Shirley Phelps. Joe and Bev Dalton was with us and they not only gave us service with our taxes but they brought some home grown parsnips to share. Even had them all washed and ready to be cooked. I expect they would even do that except they Stressed? THE NEW YOU THERAPEUT IC MASSAGE 25 per hr $15 7. hr Jennifer Bjarwtad LM.T. I must admit they taste pretty good. Gordon Taylor visited Friday afternoon. He is coping with his loss hut he readily admits that the house seems strangely quiet and the evenings seem much longer than they did when his dear wife was there to share them. We know exactly what he means. Time helps, of course, and keeping busy is a must. We are happy that he is staying active in the senior clubs too. He even paid his dues with us. Guess he kind of knows we think he belongs partly to us even if he does live all the miles away from us, dear over to Kamas, that is. Next time he comes, we want him to come earlier. If he can't eat with us. perhaps he can lend his good voice to the vocal groups during the band sessions. Last week I reported that we were going to Wendover on March 26, but the date has been changed to Tuesday, March 27, and we leave the Center at 8 a.m. which should get us there in plenty of time for lunch. If the weather cooperates and the slot machines are lose, we'll have it made. We missed Woodrow Nielson and this week. Lyle Willoughby J Subscribe To The Bee! OR peas CHOICE Woodrow spent a few days in the LDS Hospital and is recuperating at home. We're planning on him being back on Wednesday because we want to celebrate his birthday which is March 13. Lyle is in the V.A. hospital and has been a pretty sick fellow. We don't know yet when they expect to have him back home but we hope it will be sooiv Gen Geary is doing good since her knee replacement. She's still has pains, of course, and then she fell and hurt hershouldcr to hoot. Makes you wonder which pan of the body hum the most at times like that. Then too, wx take a bit longer to heal as we add the years hut having friends that care always helps so lets hope and pray for the best. Beulah Willoughby was with us Wednesday for band practice but she isn't feeling quite up to par yet. I think she was happy to let Cindy take her place at the piano after a few tunes and we thank them both 'cause w e just gotta have a piano to make the best music. It always makes us feel sad when we hear someone is sick but we feel even worse when it is a child. So it was when we heard that Eleanor who Morby's lives in Provo had suffered a severe reaction to medication that contained sulfur-dru-g and this poor little is three girl only years old. We hope she is recovering nicely by this time- Think back to how times were when you were young. I've got to tell you this story and if you can relate to it, you're older than me. To their Golden celebrate Anniversary, the kids had given their parents a weekend at a nice resort. The wife said to her very thrifty spouse, "Dear, if we are going to that plush resort, I simply must have a new swim suit." "Why, is that?" he asked, "have you outgrown your old one?" No, I haven't. she replied, hut it does have a hole in the knee. Page A7 John A. Moran Announces $18 Million Gift To Support Vision Research at U. of U John A.
