Show i death of offie ollie baker i was ill but a few days funeral yesterday scarcely more than one week ago ollie baker was at work in the little chief mine yesterday his remains were lowered into a new made gravo grave in the city cemetery and the sym paty of many friends gaes out to his young wite wife mother and sisters he ile was stricken with pneumonia and notwithstanding that he was young and strong death won out after a brief struggle he died lied early mon day morning leaving a wife and child a mother and three sisters besides scores of friends ax mr baker was 33 years of age and spent almost his entire life in this city he ile was a member of the knight knights of pythias eagles and miners union and these three orga took charge of the funeral services v which aich were conducted at the odd fellows hall yesterday afternoon the members of these three orders numbering over met at the elks hall and then marched to the resi rest dence for the purpose of escorting the remains to the 1 I 0 0 F hall where the services were attended by hundreds of friends rev S allison of the M E chuich offered prayer and a beautiful eulogy was delivered by edward pike the remainder of the services at the hall ball were from the rituals of the knights knigh of pythias and the eagles the musical number con aisted aisted of a duet by mrs charles za brickle and mrs ben thurmond and appropriate selections by the choir the floral offerings were many and beautiful and completely covered the casket the interment took place at the city cemetery and a lengthy funeral procession followed the remains to their last resting place |
