Mountain ranges in New York state and Pennsylvania will be challenging, as the pair heads west to Scranton, Penn. and up to Buffalo, New York. Their route then takes them into southern Michigan, northern Indiana and into Chicago by Sept. 7. Then its across flat Illinois and into the rolling hills of lowa and into Des Moines. Once out on the plain, Peggy and Brian Peggy and will ride easily from Lincoln, Neb. to Denver, on Sept. 21. But after that, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Utah will prove steep and long. From Leadville, high in the Colorado Rockies, they will ride to Aspen and then down into Glenwood Springs on Sept. 27. South to Grand Junction, they will ride and then on to Moab. From Moab, the pair will pedal 80 miles to Blanding. The following day they ride 75 miles to Hite Crossing. A ferry ride and 48 miles gets them Brian will retrace the route taken by Peggy's mother in to Hanksville on or about Oct. 3. Then 83 miles to Boulder, 68 the next day to Bryce, followed by an 84 mile ride to Zion. At that point, they will take a small break from bicycles, says Peggy and just relax for while. A rest well deserved.
