Instead of talking about what it wu like being blind he spoke on how he overcame his dinbility. He wu bom with Glaucoma and by the time he wu thirteen he wu blind in one eye. He then went if for an operation' to prevent any more loss of sight in his only good eye. The Wildcats Take a Bite Out of The Braves job-kee- N.S Journalism Staff Goes To Channel 2 Student Writer: Danny Robinson On Thursday, April 14, The North Summit Journalism Staff traveled to the Channel 2 Studios in Salt Lake for a tour: The students had the chance of meeting some of the news anchors, and asking them questions about their job. The tour consisted of every room but the newsroom. The students had a bit more of a restricted tour because, while the tour was going on, the tragedy of the shootings at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History building were just being repented in to the studio. This made for an interesting tour because everyone who worked at the studio wu running around trying to get the news of the shootings on the air. The students had the chance of seeing what real journalism is like.' Even though the students didnt get the regular tour, it proved to be even more interesting the way it turned North Summit traveled to South Summit on April 16. The Breves wanted a victory over the Cats, but they received the exact opposite. The Braves were missing three of their players, Heather Lorenson, Mille Judd, and Sarah Searle, which hindered the team . It wu a beautiful day for a game of softball and both teams wanted the win. In the first inning the Cats allowed the Braves to score 2 nine, but the Braves allowed the Cats to score 4. . In the second inning, again the Braves scored 2 runs, and the Cats scored a whopping 8 runs. The game continued with South Summit rapidly increasing their score. The final score wu 21 to 8 in favor of the Lady Cats. The Lady Braves put up a good fight and were definitely able to defeat them. The Lady Braves play the Cats again on Thursday, April 29, at the Coalville Park Field so come and support them. N.S. In the high jump, TJ Bates .qualified for state. The boys track team brought home the first place trophy out of 20 OLYMPIC COORDINATOR - Summit County is recruiting schools. We are very proud of the track for an Olympic Coordinator. This position will be responsible for the team, and we hope that they keep development, promotion and implementation of Summit County's plans for managing the opportunities associated with the 2002 Writer bringing home the trophies! Millie Judd On the early morning of March 10, the track team traveled to Manti High School for an all day meet It wu a state qualifying meet, and a lot of the team members qualified. In the boys 100 meter dash, TJ. Bates, and Jed Casper qualified, and for the boys 200 meter dash Jed Casper qualified. In the 400 meter dash Yance Fawcett qualified, Justin Pace missed the qualifying but still took sixth. In the 110 meter hurdles, and 300 meter hurdles Justin Hemmingway qualified. Vernon Mortensen also ran an awesome 2 mile placing first and just barely missed the state qualifying. Nobody from the girls team qualified, but they still did pretty good.
