BY LOUISE WALLACE Local Doctor Retains Membership in National Medical Association Dr. Allen, April 30, 1999 The Summit County Bee rage A6 of Coalville, has com- pleted continuing medical education requirements to retain active membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians (MFP), the national association of family doctors. MFP members are required to complete a minimum of ISO hours of accredited continuing medical study every three years. The Academy, with 87,000 members, is one of the largest medical specialty organizations in the country. It was the first national medical group to require continuing medical educa- - tion for members, thus ensuring their continuing medical expertise. Dr. Allen has been member since 1980. As one of todays family physicians, Allen is qualified to work in all major areas of health care and trained to treat patients all ages for the vast majority of health problems. The MFP represents more than 87,000 family physicians, family practice residents and medical students. Family physicians are medical specialists trained to treat the majority or medical problems for patients of all ages.
