Show uw 6A Thu Summit County Boa Friday, Dacambar 13, 1996 Middle School To Put on Play ISortH School News Summit Our Dynamic Math Recognition Team at North Summit Received What do Jalenc Richins, Sara Bates, Marda Batt, Keith Blonquist, Zachary Casper, Kim Curtis, Eric Dent, Britney Fawcett, Ben Fellows, David Fowles, Dana Hansen, Shane Hilton, Deidra Kunkel, John Kunkel, Heather Lewis, Rachel Moon, Julie Morrill, Justin Face, Gina Posited, Russell Richins, Valerie Snyder, Eric VanderLinden, Jenalyn Vernon, Briana Wild, Deena Willoughby have in common? They are all members of North Summit's dynamic Math Team coached by Mr. Jon Wamick. Recently, the Math Team competed in the second test of the year. Out of the 17 students who took the test, the five highest scores from North Summit went to Kim Curtis, Valerie Snyder, Ben Fellows, David Fowles, and Eric VanderLinden. Results from The first test held in October placed our team behind only Davis and Pleasant Grove High School. Congratulations on a job well done. There will be four more national math contests this year. The state math contest will be held in March at the University of Utah and the State rural schools contest will be held at Snow College. The North Summit Lady Braves Basketball team traveled to Dugway on Dec. 4. Despite the long bus ride the Lady Braves were pumped and ready to play ball. Their spirits were high and they were playing with enthusiasm. It was a tight scoring game, but overall North Summit held the lead until the end. The final scoring of the game was 77 to 71, in favor of North Summit. Congratulations Lady Braves on your successful win! Avenir Travel & Adventures 2029 Sidewinder Dr. Park City This month, the middle school is putting on a play called "The Christmas Carol". The starring actor is Brock Blonquist who is "Scrooge." He said the hardest thing about the play is memorizing all his lines. TTic play will be Dec. 18 at 12 p.m. for the elementary. Then they'll put on the play for the middle school the next day at 12 p.m. We would like to recognize a few students that have been chosen by The Deseret News and The Salt Lake Tribune. These students have received awards for their success in sports. Brianna Wilde received from the Deseret News an Honorable Mention, and also was chosen by the Salt Lake Tribune to be on their Second Volleyball team.. Cory Jones was selected by The Salt Lake Tribune and The Deseret te News to be on their First Football teams. Jared Vernon was chosen by the Deseret News to be Football on their Second team. The Deseret News also chose Devin Smith, Micah Richins, Travis McQueen and Chris Witt for Honorable Mention for their football season. We would like to congratulate all these students on their successful volleyball and football seasons. We are proud of you! The middle school had a very good hypnotist for an assembly named Mr. Lythgo. He lives in The game started bad for the Braves form the beginning, on Friday, Dec. 6, when North Summit played against Union. The JV game was quite intense. Players were striving to get the ball from Union and trying to brace themselves from getting pu bed to the floor. At half time the score was 16 to 26. North Summit was hurting for points. Classic On the night of Dec. 5 and 6, the North Summit Varsity Boy's Basketball team went to Park City to the annual Holiday Classic Tournament. It was their first game of die season. On Friday, the 5th, the Braves played Park City. Devin Smith and Lance Black fouled out of the game at the end of die fourth quarter. North Summit lost to the hone team, 76 toi64. On Saturday, the 6th, North Summit's defease and offense was much stronger than the night before against Park City. for North Summit and Union was The North Summit Braves beat the 40. Rich Rebels withtgtt a problem. Vanity also had their share of bad luck. Much more of it then JV. The Varsity played a tough and discouraging game against Union. The vanity also lost. They beat the North Summit Freshmen, 34 to 11, and North Summit went home with their second loss since the year started. The team has been doing well, considering that they are new.
