According to an d article written by Dennis Examiner Staff-- Peterson stated that "when the athletic director position opened up he applied for the job, but the administration really didn't want a coach plus an athletic director." They were trying to convict a woman named J.C. Davis of two murders and send her to the death chamber. The students played the roles of the different court personnel and tried every lawful trick in the book to slam Cottonwood's witnesses into a state of confusion. North Summit beat them by a long shot The attorneys were Lyndee Curtis, Brandon McQueen, Camellia Willoughby and Angie Ovard with Jabin Geary and Alicia Stembridge as witnesses. Zac Allen was the detective, Hindi Bosworth was the bailiff, and Nathan Leininger and Jason Winters filmed the case as camera men. Teddy Boyer, Jody Casper, Emily. Fraughton, Kim Hilton, Elizabeth Jaussi, Shane Rees, Rodney Robbins, Melissa Robinson, and Sandra Spriggs also all participated in North Summit's trial of the year. "It gave us a great insight into our Judicial System," smiled Lyndee Curtis as I asked her how it was. It seems there is nothing like a trial to sharpen the wits of our students. Soon the voice of the people will not be carried by today's top lawyers but by tomorrow's North Summit students.
