Show 6A Tha Summit County Boo Friday, Docombor 17. 1993 North Summit 'tfwfp Braves Wrestling Season Starts Off With Wins by Bill Rogers The first match of North Summits 1993-9- 4 wrestling season started off with a sizzle on Tuesday, Nov. 23, with North Summit traveling to Roy High School, in Ogden, for a quad wrestling meet. The first team Vc.lh Summit faced was the Roy Royals, and North Summit came out on top by the overall score of North Summit, 48, Roy 12. North Summits second match was against West High School. In the end. North Summit was outscored 42 to 30. Then in the final match, North Summit faced off against Ben Lomond. North Summit came out on top by the overall score of North Summit 42, Ben Lomond, 21. North Summit's Wrestling Team this year is going to be a great team with a lot of pride, and they will accomplish many things this season. North Summit downed Morgan, 34-2- 8 on Dec. 2 and lost a squeaker and then to 5A Bonneville, 36-3- 7, rebounded to down Gunnison, Auto Students Compete Eight North Summit High School automotive students partici- pated in the Buick-Web- State er University Trouble Grand Prix race event. North Summit's top team (two best scores) were earned by Skyler Shooting Jenkins and Brady Staples. 'They Contest on Dec. 9. The contest invites high school and ATC students from the Western States to compete in an automotive technician contest. The winning school receives a 1993 Buick Regal, and the top ten schools winning teams go to a wmown PEOPLE SERVING PEOPLE were excellent scores, but not in the top ten. Other North Summit contestants were Robert Brierly, Mike Marsh, David Petersen, Wit Roath, Jeff Smith, and Cody Wilde. The test was difficult, including questions on engines, power train, brakes, steering suspension, electrical electronics, and applied physics. We congratulate these young men for their efforts. Each university has its own criteria for admittance. Knowing the present requirements may save a lot pf heartache in the future. Utah State schools have the admissions index' which dictates admittance. The admission index uses the GPA and ACT score to generate an index number. If the number is high enough, the student then qualifies for admission. If you need any information about admission requirements, please feel free to call me. Congratulations to our students who took the ACT in October. In most cases, the scores were exceptional. The next ACT is Dec. 11. Unfortunately, the deadline for registration has passed. There will also be an ACT administered in February, April, and June. The results generally take four to six weeks to get bade to the school. As you know, post secondary schools require ACTSAT scores on applications. Deadlines for applications vary from school to school.
