The freshmen have had a bad season so far as they have tost every game. They have lost to Park City, 34-South Summit Grantsville, 20-and Morgan twice; Rich twice. The freshmen team has managed to win one game against Juab with a score of The Homecoming Game was against Morgan this year, and it proved to be a challenging game. .The freshmen wanted a win to i. show Morgan that the Braves could '.Jake them. The game was not what i.the Braves had in mind as Morgan dominated the field. The Braves played hard but just couldn't bold Morgans offense from scoring. -- 8; 0; 60-1- 2, 22-1- 4. ..The Braves were disappointed with the loss of yet another game. j When the Braves met up with South Summit, they were looking for revenge. Last time, the Cats had game. The next game for the freshmen was against Rich here at North Summit. The Braves had gotten better and thought they would beat Rich because the Braves sophomores killed Richs sophomores. The game wasnt even close as the Rebels scored a couple of touchdowns early in the first quarter. The freshmen came out in the second half and scored a couple of touchdowns, but the Rebels just kept scoring and couldnt be stopped. The Braves tost by a whopping score of 60-1- 2. On the last game of the season, the Braves played the Juab Wasps. When the Braves met up with foe Wasps last time, the Braves beat them. The game was a hard fought game but the Braves losing streak continued as they lost, 32-1Both scored of foe touchdowns were by Wes Olsen, a running back. ' Students Planning Lady Braves Volleyball Team Placed Fifth at Region North Summit Braves a principal but also a coach. He coached North Summits football, track, and wrestling teams. Principal Blonquist was named Coach of The Year three times in football, wrestling, and track. He was National Coach of The Year in 1978 and is the only coach who has won state championships in three different sports. Mr. Blonquist U happy to be back at the high school. He is ready for us to buckle down and get serious about school. We are thrilled to have Principal Blonquist back again and wish him foe best of luck! Blonqubt Our principal this year is Earl Sam BlonquisL He has coached and been a principal here for 30 years. Mr. Blonquist has lived in Summit County his entire life. He graduated from North Summit and then went, on to college. He re- caved credits from Weber and Utah1 State. He majored in P.E. and I , s . This is a great opportunity to Red Ribbon Week by Stephan Woolstenhulme-Th- e North Summit Middle School is having Red Ribbon Week this week. The drama troupe is having a tot of different activities throughout the week such as a rap or skit contest, where each class makes up a rap or skit dealing with things about Red Ribbon Week. The winner of the contest will re-- ceive a pizza party. On Wednesday, all of foe students are supposed to wear red. They are also having a contest to see if a person can guess how many red jelly beans are in a jar. Last week, the fifth and eighth graders took the SAT tests. They were tested on many different subjects. The students did very well. get a first hand look at foe history of Washington and New York City. It is totally unlike anything here in Utah, exclaimed teacher Scott Olpin. This will be an experience the ldds will remember all of their lives. When school stated, foe officers planned a barbecue up at Coal Holler on Sept. 11. They enjoyed volleyball games, line dancing, and watebing Mr. Potter try to cook 30-3- 1, hamburgers. They have also been working in foe concession stands at foe home football games and have bad a great experience! In foe future, they will be doing many more fun activities such as going on judging trips to judge an- imals, going to State Convention at Cedar City and Denver in foe spring, and going to National Convention at Kansas Gty, KS in November.
