Show Friday, Dacambar 4, 1992 Echo Mountain Cloggers and 4-H'- ers Summit County braved a cold, stormy night to attend the annual 4-Achievement and Awards H 't tf" t P ; Night on Monday, Nov. 2 at the Oakley Town Hall. Many awards were presented to who have worked and have gone the extra mile to improve their skills and make the "best better in 4-- H this year. The following were recognized for their 4-achievements in 1992: County Medals, Record Book SavH ings Awards, Saturday, Nov. 28, 70 Echo festivities at Dickens following the show. Dec. Record book participation were awarded to 80 Awards; Mountain Cloggers and Company performers entertained at the Annual Dickens Christmas Festival in Salt Lake City at the Utah State Fairgrounds. ' Julie Parisien on her way to victory in the second run of America's Opening Slalom. by George Buys American Julie Parisien edged Pernilla Wiberg, of Sweden, by three hundredths of a second to win the slalom event at the America's Opening World Cup ski race at Park City on Sunday, Nov. 29. Parisien recorded the second fastest time (Hi the first ran of the slalom, behind Wiberg by 0.23 seconds. On the second run, Wiberg made a disastrous error near the bottom erf the course allowing Parisien to sc ore the win. Annelise Coberger, of New England, placed third. The slalom event was held on the lower face of the Payday Run which allowed spectators to view the entire slalom course on this sunny day. Ulrike Maier, of Austria, won the Giant Slalom event, held on Saturday, Nov. 28, beating Carole Merle, of France, by 0.23 seconds and Vreni Scheider, of Switzerland, by 0.S0 seconds. The Giant Slalom event started at the top of the Payday Run and finished near the Lodge at the base of the mountain. Friday Miss Pins Susie Young had the high series this week with a 561. Her games are a 175, 217, 169. Susie bowls with the Lucky 4 and currently holds a 161 average. Nice going, Susie! Next highest was Helen Piep. She had a 544 187. 152, 205.
