BELONGS TO UNITED STATES state department Is not concerned regard ng isle royale washington no advices have been received at the state department concerning the reported expedition ot of several canadians led by captain S C young of the ninety sixth regi ment for isle royale in lake superior with the intention of hoisting the british flag on that island and formally declaring the territory a part of canada according to the officials of the state department there has nev er been any question between canada and the united states as to the united states ownership of the island this ownership was settled by the treaty of ghent at the state department here there Is no disposition to regard the action of captain young as any thing but a filibustering move
