President Ball and Vice President Morby extended their warm greetings to each member and made great efforts to sec that the days arc a pleasant experience for each of us. They conduct the activities of the Club by holding business meetings each day, calling for reading of minutes of the previous meeting by Secretary Woodrow Neilson, and acceptance of same by the members present They announce plans that are being worked on, as well as ac- tivities and future happenings, which are of interest to our Wednesday morning, Jean Pas-ket- t. County Health Nurse, was present to monitor all members for our blood pressure reading. Gary Christensen Dean of Students and Joyce Gary Christensen, a senior En- glish and Art History major at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, has made the Dean's list for the spring semester. Gary is one of 1,700 select undergraduates drawn from 43 states and 21foreign lands. re Following lunch that day, the band members held their practice, in preparation for their trip to Cottonwood Creek Nursing Facility in Salt Lake to present an hour's entertainment for the patients there, on Thursday. Those making the trip were Buelah, Laura, Owen, Ralph, Lorraine, Grant, Marie, Eleanor Morby, Myrla, May, Eleanor of his Scout troop visit the Senior in several ways for the betterment of the Club. As a small token of appreciation, the Gub members presented her with an etched dower vase as a momento of the group. active . That was a very good deed, and is greatly appreciated by our members, especially the male members who would have had to do the job themselves. Thanks to you, Mr. Blonquist and your boys. Lonnie Jacobson displayed a wooden clock he had recently finished and that he and Mary presented to Ruth as a friendship gift Grant Geary brought a supply of homegrown potatoes for the Club usage, and Myrla Vernon donated a box of green tomatoes to be used by the members if they wanted them. Wc arc still enjoying the weekly gifts of bakery items donated to us by the bakery in Park City, owned and operated by the Fields Corporation. Our thanks to all these kind people for the items. We do enjoy them very much. A note of sadness was injected into our thoughts upon the death of former long-tim- e Senior member, and also one of our oldest members, Paul Barber, a lifetime resident of Coalville. Frank Toole and Leah Neilson were selected to offer the prayers Quilters for the week were Gwen, Eleanor, Edna, Hazel, Myrla, Vemese, Ethel, Leah, Lorene, Ardclla, Beverly, Jean, Ellen and Marr. Games of cards and on Wednesday and Friday. The menus were tasty and satisfying for everyone as prepared by Beverly and Jean, who were helped in the serving by Fawn, Jim, Holly, Mick and Eleanor and served to about ninety persons. All of your efforts can be shot in a split second when you least expect it. Ruth Taylor, former secretary of Gub told of her plans to move to Salt Lake as her permanent home. We will all miss Ruth as she has been a faithful member of the Club for many years, and was Automobile! accidents can happen at anytime, no matter how good of a driver you are. Using your safety belt is a healthy habit to develop. Protect that body that you work so hard to take care of. Take the challenge and buckle-u-p every time you're on the road. Mr. Don Blonquist had members South Summit Senior Citizens .51 re Guess what tomorrow it is and LaVem Crandall's 68th wedding anniversary. How marvelous, it couldn't happen to a nicer couple. Congratulations. There were 36 Seniors for dinner. Following Sam, Edna and Irene entertained us with their wonderful music. Thanks so very much. ' Oct. 13: The Seniors were in good form when they arrived for their day of cards, pool and visiting; We were happy to see Zella Johnston back with us following eye surgery. Elmer welcomed one and all. He announced flu shots Nov. 4 at the County Clinic. Halloween is coming. It's time for goblins, ghosts Oct. 10: Gorgeous fall weather.
