the year 1 ut near as we have been able to leara there is absolute nothing in hese reports one story which has I 1 een circulated to the effect that Q packard had secured control of mine and that he intended to do away with the leasing stem fhe reporter ft informed today by a local mining man who is in a position to know that there is no truth in the rumor the eureka hill mining company s next meeting which is in fact the first meet ng in over two years will be held du ring next february and if and changes are to be made it is hardly probable that anything V ill be done until after this meeting the discovery of such rich ore by leasers in the upper workings of the eureka hill mine has been a surprise to everyone even the officers of the company but the work of the leasers has been the means of adding many thousands of dollars to the company s surplus cash and as fir as we have been able to learn they have no intention of cutting off this revenue in the mean time the leasers are busy ending out ore and there has been a marked improvement home of the blocks of g aund during the past week for the week ending last night the various leasers at the eureka hill mine produced 8 carloads of ore advance in little chief little chief stock has climbing up ward during the past week standing the fact that an assessment assee of cne cent per share has been levied and it is generally understood that there has been i marked improvement in conditions underground the stock was selling for 1 cents on monday with but little doing at that figura but on the following day it jumped to 3 cents and on wednesday several thou land shares changed lands at 4 cents local people have been buying heavily during the week and a great deal of this stock has been sold on the salt lake stock exchange A nice body of ore carrying values of 13 ounces silver and 23 per cent lead is now exposed and the future of the property is becom ing brighter at the work at the new godiva mill is now going on very satisfactorily and ahe building is closed in so that the old weather will with the work some of the machinery is now on the ground and the work of putting it in place will be commenced at once che dein cry of certain portions of the machinery will be delayed somewhat and for that leaon the lant will not be completed before the 1st day of march swansea dividend at a meeting of the directors of the fe mining con piny monday night it wis decided to pass around four cents a share or money among the stockholders the boks will be closed on the and payment made on the instant or the past few months the company has been a steady shipper and the raise in the price of metals has filled the treasury finely the mine is said to be in fine condition and dividends may be the rule from now on dividend from beck tunnel A dividend of 10 was de claredon tuesday by the directors of the beck consolidated mining company it a meeting held at provo the dm lend is one cent a share and is paya ble on the instant the books clos ng on the and opening on the the mine as reported in good condition with the promise that this initial dividend will be made permanent rod regular improvements at scranton jasse mathews and a force of carpen left last sunday or delmonte where they will erect an ore house for the scranton mine thia is the load ing point on the san pedro railway for that property and the hei shipments have made a big ore house at that place the scranton people are figuring upon installing electric power for their machinery and the dellunde Tel lunde power company his been asked to submit figures on the cost in order to secure electricity for the scranton it would be necessary to build a line a distance of about eight miles and it is not known whether or not this power will be secured at the time J E darmer of salt lake made his usual visit to the may day mine last sunday hudson smith is out from salt lake for the purpose of looking after work at his north gintic tintic property the leasers at the mammoth mine received their checks ladt tuesday the leasers are nearly all doing very nicely at present and as the company also has about seventy men upon the roll the property is now producing considerable rich ore charlie parker and S A benear shipped another carload of oie this week from their lease it the undine mine at silver city the leasers now have a nice body of ore expend and the old undine promises to produce a large amount of good ore within the next year there are more miners at work on leases in the bullion beck mire at present than at any time during the past year and nearly all of them are reported as doing si lend idly A few month s ago the beck company was somewhat behind in the payment of leasers for ore shipped but very prompt settlement is now being made the lease of walter lott and ernest menlove in the bullion beck mine is still improve ng and the ore which now being extracted is of a splendid grade the ore carries big tadues in lead and silver and the owners of the lease v ill be able to realize a nice piece of money before the end of the ear I 1 arson crooks and baker have parted jgwo 1 bec l mine ai caare now breaking ore A shipment will probably be re idy within the next two weeks the leasers will have to do considerable dead work in order properly handle the ore ahe ore deposit is a large one and the
