More than double the amount of youngsters that competed last season signed up for the American Youth Soccer Organization. Team members took part in the first matches ofthe season last week on the Constitution Park fields. People helping out with the program including coaches and referees are all volunteers. TABION A SLUGGERS-- T abiona H igh Schools baseball team has defeated St Joseph and Intermountain Christian and currently owns a 2 mark. The team is coached by Lee Gines. 2-- Tabiona High Schools baseball team picked up two wins when they downed St Joseph Catholic School and then clobbered Intermountain Christian, Wednesday, 12-- Matthew Sloan waa the winningpitcher for the Tigers in the victory over ICS, and starting catcher, Riley Bagley belted out a triple. The Tigers have lost to Mount Vernon and dropped a 25-- 0 game to Waterford toeven their record 6. at 2-- 2. Tabiona will host West Ridge, Wednesday, September 5 at 4 p.m., and then hits the road to play Salt Lake Lutheran, September 7; St. Joseph, September 12. Other home games are: ICS at Tabiona, September 21 and Salt Lake Lutheran at THS, October 2. Waterford and West Ridge are the top teams in Tabionas region as neither team has lost a game. Sloan started the game for Tabiona and was replaced by Bagley in the third. Baum finished it up vs. Waterford, which ripped out 13 hits as compared to four by Tabiona. Tabkmahadfive errors andWaterford one. Union High School pocketed second place in its season opening meet in Vernal, Wednesday with a 313 tally. Uintah ended up first on its home course at 302. Park City and Wasatch tied for third at 318. Judge Memorial pocketed fifth at 327 and Granite was sixth at 381. Judd Larsen and Tyler Labrum from Union placed third with 76 scores. Tim Hawkins, Uintah, was tops at 70, and a Par k City golfer was second at 75.
