The boys plan to make a presentation to foe Roosevelt City Council in die near future to seek their help in making the bike and skateboard park become a reality. THE WINNERS-Class- ic Can Chasers recently announced its racing winners, who are: barrel racing, Michelle Bastian, Jessica Bastian, Christy Murray, Debrah Wilkins, Kimmie Wall, Teal Brown, Delena Christensen, Jessica Wilkins, Kirby Shiner, Mandy Bastian, Tylee Hamaker, Ada Ames, Natasha Farnsworth, Chenae Shiner, Shelby Pickup, Rachel Farnsworth and Lacy Smuin. There were winners in various other events as well. The barrel racing winner in the open division is Michell Bastian. The 350 Novice winners are Jesaica Bastian, Christy Murray, and Debrah Wilkins. The Green Hone winners include Kimmie Wall, Teal Brown, and Delena Christensen. The Senior Division winners are Jessica Wilkins and Kirby Shiner. COUGAR SCULPTOR Snell Johnson (pictured farright)cameto Roosevelt in 1997 for the unveiling of the bronze cougar he Sculpted for Union High, his old alma mater. He gave the cougar as a gift to the school to say thank you. Johnson passed away on Saturday, March 17. Basin native & famous sculptor succumbs and 400 West. Snell was a 1956 graduate of Union High. He grew up in west Uintah County on White rocks Road. As a youngster, Snell helped provide . for his family of six siblings when his father fell ill. As a teen he worked hauling hay and at a service station owned by Buzz Larsen. His life was one of a rags to riches story, so interesting that a few years ago it was featured on Paul Harveys the Rest of the Story series. The announcement ofhis death was also on the Paul Harvey broadcast on the day of his Amend, Tuesday. In 1997Snell sculpted a600 pound bronze cougar and presented it as a gift to Union High as a way of saying thankyou to the community, he said. Johnson was born and raised in Uintah County on the Whiterocks Road. He grew up working on the farm and working days at a local gaa station to help support his family after his father's health failed. Snellen Maurice Johnson, world famous sculptor ofheroic size bronze monuments died at the age of 62 years on March 17. Mr. Johnson was born in Myton and later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
