There has to be a better wav to plan interstate travel -- n than this." r-aggg- UBMC Auxiliary provides scholarships to local USU The Uintah Basin Medical Center Auxiliary Organization has provided scholarships of 5500 each to four students who are planning to attend school at the Uintah Basin Branch Campus of Utah State University. More than 40 members of the Auxiliary are volunteers at tha Uintah Basin Medical Center. The money used Cur scholarships and other community projects comes from the gift shop they operate at tha hospital. "We are pleased to be able to provide these scholarships to assist students in obtaining their training. Our volunteers work hard in order to make various contributions to the community, states Carol DcBartoIa, Auxiliary past president. "Our mission is to provide community service through our volunteer service at the hospital, adds Helen Hall, current president. "We not only provide a major service by operating the gift shop, but we are able to use the proceeds to help worthwhile projects in the commumty.Our scholarship program is one of our major projects, adds HalL Dr. City Denton, director of the branch campus, states, "We are so pleated to have such tremendous support from the community and organizations such as the Uintah Basin Medical Center Auxiliary. The business leaders and organizations provide scholarship money that enables many student! to attend the branch campus because of the financial assistance. Many students would not be able to attend without this support. Anyone interested in applying for a scholarship ia encouraged to come to the center and pick up an application form. The final deadline to apply for scholarships for foil or spring semester is July 15. "Again, we would like to thank the community for the support given to the scholarship program which enable many students to further their education.
