Hwy Wild turkeys come to Nine Mile Canyon Visitors to N ine Mile Canyon may encounter wild turkey, in addition to rock art On FA 23, the Division of Wildlife Resources, in partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation, transplanted 27 Rio Grand wild turkey to the lower reaches of Nina Mila Canyon. Tha canyon is northeast of Price. Before being released, biologists fit a number oftorda with radio transmitters that will permit them to atudy tha specie movement, nesting locations and habitat preferences. The new transplants wart captured Feb. 22 from tha Colorado River area near tha Colorado Utah boarder.
