Idaho Falls airport removes Temple from mural llie familiar vista of tumbling waters domino tee a mural that welcomes arriving visitors to the Idaho Falla Airport. But in the center, where there had been an imposing white building with a golden angel on its spire, there is nothing but sky. Airport Manager Mike Humberd knew he had a problem when he heard about the first call from someone who did not appreciate the elimination of the LDS Church temple. Earlier this year, Idaho Falls officials hired Interspace Airport Advertising of Allentown, Pa., to redo the airport's decor, removing displays and mounting new signs. Humberd said Interspace has a policy to make pictures neutral so they do not appear to endorse any particular religion or business. Ifit had been an Episcopal church or a mqjor business in the photo, all would have received the eeme airbrush treatment. A new picture of tho falls, one without the temple hut true to reality, will bo up by Thanksgiving. Hie doctored picture was erected in September. Humberd said he has not received any complaints himself. But two members of tho City Council's airport committee, Joe Groberg and Brad Eldredge, have gotten about 15. "After the first comment, 1 called back and said. This isn't going to work,'" Humberd said. Tm not here to be controversial about anything.
