Five dear and elk plana for the Uintah Basin area including all of Daggett, Uintah and Duchesne counties as well as portions of the counties to the west and, will be presented at the January 5 RAC meeting. These plans are currently Wildlife advisory council to discuss management plans The Regional Advisory Council (RAC) will be reviewing 10 habitat management plana and five deer and elk plana developed by the Utah units from the Diamond Mountain WMA: Mail Draw, Marshall Draw and Little Hole; and the Taylor Flat, Browns Park and Vernal WMAa. While oral comments will be taken during the January 5, RAC meeting, the UDWR requests that all comments, including those given in the meeting, be presented in written form. Comments should be specific to a single unit and the name of the Unit should be clearly identified . Address habitat plan comments to: Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, attention: Jack Lytle, Unit name, 152 East 100 North, Vernal, UT, 84078. The deadline for written comments for the Habitat Manage Top; the three Diviaion of Wildlife Resources (UDWR). The meeting ia acheduled for January 5, 1998 at 7 p.m. at the Vernal City Offices, 447 Esst Main Street The public ia encouraged to attend and comment on the plana. The Habitat Management Plana for UDWR owned Wildlife Management Areaa (WMAa) are available for the public to review through the UDWR regional office in Vernal. These plana include the four units ofthe Three Comers Wildlife Management Area: Trail Creek, Goslin Mountain, Red Creek Flat and Bare r of Hvg t nMMim (W) 11' ,' bn. The public review period will be the month of January with a final review from the RAC during their February 9 meeting. Written comments for the elk and deer plans' should be addressed to the UDWR Vernal Office above with attention to Steve Cranney. Comments should be specific to each unit and have the unit name clearly identified. The RAC for the Northeastern council seRegion ia a lected locally to represent a broad range of interests throughout the Uintah Basin area. The council in 0Bum cludes: three members from agriculture; two sportsmen; a member from the US Forest Service, the Ute Tribe, Bureau ofLand Management, basin business, and an elected county government official; two from environmental interests and two from the communities at large. Their role is to work with the people ofthe Uintah Basin and the UDWR to put together recommendations to the Wildlife Board for the management of wildlife in Utah.
