The Union team has just three lettermen on the squad this year in Ross, Nelson and Gardner. Heaton was listed on the varsity squad last season, but didn't see much action. "On paper we're not as strong as last year when we won 18 games and played for the championship. Many people think this season is a rebuilding year, but our JV and sophomore programs are strong enough that we shouldn't be rebuilding-just reloading, Hanke said. "People will be surprised on ' how tough we will be this year. We lost Jeff Davenport and four other starting seniors from last year, but we will be very competitive this season. Other teams will know we ore there.
