The harvest festival - Chung Ch'ui was celebrated under the frill moon on the 15 day ofthe 8 month, considered the birthday of the moon. The special Moon cakes were round and yellow as the moon, and stamped with the picture of a rabbit the image ancient Chinese saw in the moon. The festival lasted three days, and it was believed that on the last day flowers fell from the moon, and those who witnessed this miracle would be rewarded with good fortune. Christmas Spirit Connection Duchesne Light Parade Toys For Tots Nose so red and clothes soaked through, There's hot chocolate for me and Romans The Christmas Spirit Connection has organised a workshop just like Santas in a donated building next to Put's Little Lunch Box on Lagoon Street and theyre looking for volunteers to help build crafts and toys. So far the Connection have held two successful indoor yard sale and bake sale and participated in the Christmas Boutique at the Country Cottage and Holly Fair. There are many ways the public can get involved with the Connection to provide Christmas assistance for the Basins needy children! Adub, group, organisation, business, or anyone can easily adopt a child, or several children from one of the Giving Trees set out at IGA and Stewart's Thriftway. Wouldn't this years company Christmas par ty be more meaningful if employees brought toys and warm winter clothes for a child instead of gag gifts? It doesn't take Santa himself to organise something in the office! How about a fund raising drive with a dearly defined goal for your company or school? Coild the boss match what the employees raise? Could dubs compete? It only takes one good idea to make a difference in a child's life.
