Free software helps homeowners save money Irvine, California: A University of California, Irvine Computer Engineering student has been distributing throughout the southern California area a new soft- ware package that helps homeowners save money on their mortgage. ' Braden Russell was tired of seeing large mortgage lending institutions grow rich while the average person struggled to make their monthly payments.
