August 12. 1997- - Pane 9 Uintah teachers sign contracts The Uintah Education Association CUEA) has settled its salary dispute with the School District, although educators must still make do with the lowest salary increase in the state. The bottom line; an additional step has been created at the top of each salary lane which will provide a IT percent increase for all teachers. Lanes are determined by the amount of continuing education teachers seek. According to UEA president Ed Browning, that amount is 68 percent less than the state average increase of 3.03 percent this year and 48 percent less than the 2.5 percent Duchesne District offered their teachers. But teachers seem happier with this offer than the School Boards original offer of sere increase on the base and funding only existing steps and lanes, which provided no increase to the most experienced 3 TRAINING EXERCISE-- It appeared that a mighty fire was raging on Hilltop last Thursday night, Aug. 7, and it was ... but everything was under control. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in June 1951, and went back into the Air Force as a Veterinary officer for three years. He came back to the Uintah Basin in 1954 and fulfilled the dream of bringing veterinary services to the people of this area. He represented the county in the legislature Car 12 years, getting a college and vocational school program for the Basin. His wife, Joyce Rigby, was raised in Newton, attended North Cache -High Schoai and USU. The Dennis- - -were married Sept. 10,' 1947, just before setting off for Veterinary School.
