Show Page 14. December 2. 1987 QJJihtah EdUCdtlOPl IBasin Standard Duchesne holds Harvest Ball On November 20 the Duchesne FFA Chapter held their annual Harvest Ball. It started at 9:00 pm and lasted until 12:00 midnight. The officers in the chapter had the dance very well planned. Marie Martinez put the tapes y together and acted as for the Harvest Ball and earlier disc-jocke- Junior High Dance. Pictures of couples were taken by Miss Stewart, DHS yearbook advisor. The Chapter appreciates the help of all who participated in the for the preparaton and clean-u- p dance. They had a very big turnout and were pleased with the amount of people that attended the dance. All proceeds went to the chapter for funds, which will be used during the year to do various activites. The next activity that the chapter has planned is FFA week which will involve the whole chapter in different activities. Farm Bureau Women Essay Contest has been announced. The Title is "The U.S. Constitution, What it means to Me. The essay should reflect the writer's thinking on the many ways the precepts and purposes of the U.S. Constitution have affected his or her personal life. Contestant groups include: Class I: Elementary School Grades 1 - 5. Class II: Middle-Junio- r High School Grades 6-Class HI: High School Grades Class IV: Adults - No age limit. The essay material should express the views of the person entering the contest. References for basic information may be used. School and public libraries contain plenty of reference material. The essays should not exceed 1,000 words, but may be shorter. Essay may be neatly handwritten Please or typed, double-spacecheck for proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling before submitting your essay. Essays should include: Title of Essay (The U.S. Constitution: What It Means To Me.), Name of entrant, complete address, telephone number, which class (I,II,III, or IV - see above), County, and if youth living with parents, your father andor mother's name. Entry deadline is April , 1988, Friday. Entrants may, however, submit their essays earlier, if they wish. Hospital offers i life support course Duchesne County Hospital will be offering to the public a course on Basic Life Support. The course involves Resuscitation (CPR) training and will be held December 15, 8:00 am to 4:00 Carol pm at the hospital. Cardio-Pulmonar- y Rasmussen, a registered nurse and certified EMT, will be teaching the course, and she urges anyone interested to sign up quickly, as class size will be limited to 20 persons, and the registration deadline is December 5.
