They received word while there that Dee's grandfather, Walt Nelson, had passed away, Walt will be remembered as he wu a state Fish and Game member. Toni Halle, daughter of Vi graduated from nursing school, Friday, November 20. There were 36 girls that became R.N.'s Tonie's girl friend, Laura Riddle, went along with Vi Hicken to Price for the occasion. Tonic will be working at the Duchesne County Hospital for some time. e Harvey and Venla Gee spent Thanksgiving weekend in West Jordon with Venla's neice, Hicken, Caro-lyn- Kaelyn Ashby and Randy N. Meyers announced their engagement and plan to be married in the Salt Lake Temple, December 4, 1987. TO BE MARRIED Ash to be married by-Meye- rs Mr. and Mrs. Clarin Dee Ashby, formerly of Roosevelt Utah, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Kaelyn to Kandy N. Meyers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald H. Meyers of Murray, Utah. Kaelyn is a 1977 graduate of Union High School in Roosevelt. Randy is a 1979 graduate of Bingham High in South Jordan. . They plan to marry in the Salt Lake Temple on December 4, 1987. They came to the senior citizens dinner November 19. e Glen Landers took a turn for the worse Wednesday of last week. They called Jean back to Salt Lake. They had to operate on his hip again. We do send our best wishes to them. e Eurma Jean Moon, Pleasant Valley, was operated on at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake Wednesday of last week. She is the wife of Neal Moon and the daughter of Thelda and Ralph Halstead. She came home November 23. Helen and Kipp Merkley went with Eugean and Grant Pickup of Neola to spend four days in St. George where they attended a state soil conservation meeting last week. . Tommie Burdick was home-beelast weekend, from Weber State College. He is the son of Margie and Gerald Burdick. e Ada and Harold Thomas spent three days in Orem and Provo where Harold ahd three doctor's appointments Monday November r 23. Inez and Or Swasey was in Provo a couple of days last week where Inez was keeping doctor appoint- ments. The Harold Gee's spent Friday November 20 in Provo, they spent the night in Provo with their friends. Bishop and Norma Smith, They were dinner guests at more friend's, Merle and Kenneth Curtis, in Springville Saturday. were up and visited for several days with their sister, Veva Tollefson, and brother George Marett and their families. They also visited with their father, Narvell Marett in Roosevelt. Nona Witt spent several days visiting in Heber with her daughter, Dian and Bob Ray bold, and getting to visit with a new grandchild, e Nellie Lang accompanied her daugher Arva and Elton Potter last week to Worland, Wyoming to visit with their daughter, Laura, and Shasta Foulk. Then Saturday they went to Cody, Wyoming, and to Powell, where they all attended a Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Leona and Herbert Foulk and unde, Ivie. They went to their ward conference. Four generations were present at the occasion, o Eva (Pratt) Gardener of bountiful was visiting with Nellie Lang on Monday of last week, Eva was formerly of Duchesne, e Randy Carlile, who Vi Hicken has been caring for, was bitten on his hsd hy a cat. He had to be left in the hospital over night where they gave him tetenus shots and an IV. e Inez and Or Swaaey's family had a sunwise birthday party Friday and Saturday 4 last week. His birthday was November 23. There were 86 family members that were there, with children, grand and great grandchildren. They came from Grantsville, Noth Salt Lake, and Dutch John. e Mike and Brenda Williams and Boys spent a week in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, visiting with Mike's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Williams. e Pattie and Kent Davis and family of San Bernadino, California spent a few days visiting with Pattie's mother, Laura Mae Timothy. Then they spent Thanksgiving with Kents folks in Provo. The hall was decorated yellow, orange and green slreammers accented with yellow, gold and brown balloons. A large turkey dceoration and pilgramx hung from the ceiling of the dance hall. On the serving tables were ears of the traditional Indian com; used as decorations. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food including turkey and We appreciated the dressing. dancers that furnished the food. We would like to name all of those that took time out to make and donated the food, but the list would be very long. However, we do appreciate you all.
